Description
Tell us a little about yourself — your research interests, the group you work in, and how long you have been in your current position.
I started my career in cold atoms with my PhD at the Leibniz University Hannover (Germany), where I built a Bose-Einstein Condensate source for a 10 m high atomic free fall tower, to be used for precise gravity sensing and tests of fundamental physics. After finishing the PhD, I joined the group of
Immanuel Bloch at MPQ in October 2024 to work on the Lithium quantum gas microscope.
What motivates you to apply as a postdoc representative?
The research environment for quantum science and technologies in and around Munich, including MCQST, is really impressive and I would be happy to get more involved in the organisational structures. I would also like to especially support and represent the group of female postdocs.
Tell us about your current research work and what excites you most about it.
Our state-of-the-art quantum gas microscope has already been demonstrated to be a powerful quantum simulator for many aspects of the Fermi-Hubbard model. With further upgrades - that I am excited to be part of - we will be able to find answers to even more questions and dive deeper into regimes which are much harder or even impossible to calculate classically, probing the frontiers of known physical models.
