Three MCQST Researchers on Highly Cited Researchers 2020 List
The Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology is delighted to announce that three of our academics have been named on the annual Highly Cited Researchers™ 2020 list from Clarivate.
The highly anticipated annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science™ citation index.
The methodology that determines the “who’s who” of influential researchers draws on the data and analysis performed by bibliometric experts and data scientists at the Institute for Scientific Information™ at Clarivate. It also uses the tallies to identify the countries and research institutions where these scientific elite are based, Germany occupying the forth place in the rankings.
Prof. Dr. Immanuel Bloch | Quantum Many Body Systems at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics.
Prof. Dr. J. Ignacio Cirac | Quantum Information Theory at Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics and Technical University Munich, said “I see this as a recognition to the work of many people, specially the students, postdocs, and other collaborators at MPQ and within MCQST.”
Prof. Dr. Theodor Hänsch | Laser Spectroscopy and Quantum Physics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics said “The high number of citations shows that the work of our team is noticed by many other researchers. This is good to know, although I would not put too much weight on such a numerical indicator.”
