World Quantum Day: Join us in the lab!

In our laboratories, quantum physicists work with extremely thin crystals. But how do they make crystals that are only a few atoms thick? The answer may surprise you

Come with us on a virtual trip to the lab! For World Quantum Day (#WorldQuantumDay), we'll take you to Professor Alexander Holleitner's research group at ZNN (Center for Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials). There, Criss Hohmann and Mirco Troue will show you how to make atom-thin crystal layers with ordinary adhesive tape. The physicists can then use laser light to explore the fascinating properties of the ultra-thin crystals.
