PIs for Diversity: Professional Selection and Recruitment in Academia
Professional selection and recruitment processes are major pillars for creating equal opportunities in academia. This workshop is designed for PIs and those who make personnel related decisions at MCQST. The focus will lie on the influence of gender stereotypes on selection processes and recruitment in academia. A brief talk will introduce barriers to women's decision for an academic career. The workshop will also introduce and focus on intervention opportunities to tackle these barriers.
We have invited Dr. Tanja Hentschel who is Assistant Professor for Leadership and Management at the Amsterdam Business School and University of Amsterdam.
The talk will partly be based on Peus, C. , S., Hentschel, T., & Frey, D. (2015). Personalauswahl in der Wissenschaft - Evidenzbasierte Methoden und Impulse für die Praxis [Personnel selection in academia - Evidence-based methods and impulses for practicioners]. Heidelberg: Springer.
