Organizers
The 1E9 think tank is a community of future optimists who want to shape the world with new technologies and ideas. 1E9 consists of a digital magazine, podcasts, videos and digital and physical events. 1E9 was founded in spring 2019 by members of the previous teams from WIRED Germany and the tech conference Daho.am. In the summer of 2019, the startup held a conference in the Deutsches Museum for the first time, which was attended by 900 visitors. In 2020 and 2021, over 2500 1E9 members then had the chance to attend hybrid editions of the conference.
With its “Future Initiative”, the Deutsches Museum wants to become the most modern museum on earth. In addition to the renovation of the collection building, the renewal of the exhibitions, the digitization of the collection and the revision of the educational concepts, the exchange between society, research and companies is an important pillar for this: "We want to make the museum a place where society can shape its future negotiated, where people can exchange ideas about what kind of progress they want and what tasks science and technology have to fulfill,” says General Director Wolfgang M. Heckl. "The Forum of the Future here at the Ludwigsbrücke offers exactly the right space for this!"
